We have not determined an exact time frame, but we are expecting to start accepting grant applications in late Summer/early Fall.
Our grant program will offer financial assistance to families in the process of adopting. Grants will vary in amount, depending upon the current number of applicants, as well as the need of those applicants.
We realize that every adoption is different and every situation is different. Our Board of Directors will carefully and prayerfully consider each and every application we receive to determine how best to help as many children and families as possible.
*Grants will only be given to families working with Accredited Adoption Agencies or licensed attorneys in the United States who have already been matched with a child. Sorry, but we do not make exceptions if your agency requires financial aid to be secured before you can be matched with a child.
APPLICATION PROCESS: The potential adoptive parent(s) will mail a completed application and supporting documents and nonrefundable $25 application fee (made payable to Affording Adoption Foundation) for review. The application is online on our GRANT APPLICATION page, so that you can download it and print.
The Executive Board will review applications during an *Application Period. If you are chosen to receive a grant, you will be notified as soon as a decision has been made. We will weigh the needs of the applicants, as well as the funds available when making this decision.
If you do not receive a grant during the first Application Period in which you submit your application, we will hold your application for 365 days after it is received. You can request to be resubmitted for a grant in subsequent Application Periods without paying an additional Application Fee. After those 365 days have passed, you must resubmit an Application with an additional $25 Application Fee. If your Application is reconsidered, we reserve the right to ask you to update the information in your initial Application before consideration by the Executive Board.

We do NOT reimburse families for expenses already paid. All Grant monies will be disbursed to your Adoption Agency or attorney, NOT to applicants.
